What is the real strenth of Rural market ?
Most of the time their is no separate strategy for rural market or it is almost similar to Urban style .
1)Is their any difference in these two markets ?
yes their is vast difference in these markets.
2) Is their any differance customer approach or behaviour ?
Yes their is difference in approach & behaviour of customer in rural & urban.
what are the difference?
1) Availability of hard cash is different in this markets.
2) Need of the product is also different .
3) Sellers capacity is also difference.
4) Product range is also difference.
5) Requirement cost of product is also difference
5) Ussage of product is also a difference.
I can count these no's to endless there are another
different requirement of logistic, Marketing etc.
In spite of all this differences real strength is their
spending habit .
If a urben customer urens 100 Rupees he will spend 60% on household purchase 20% on long term investment & 20% on luxury items ( % may very but pattern remains same )
Now we move to Rural
30% on previous expenses which already done on credit 30% 0n asset & 70% on luxury & house hold requirement the total is 120 it mens he spends 120 rupees on earning of 100 rupees.
I think these is the strength as well as weakness of this market .as the person or trader who can afford this credit can control the market demand as well as market behaviour.
also know in rural market there are two type of customers 1 is rural customer 2 urbanised rural customer which i will write in next blog tomorrow.
